Where do I start with downsizing?
Start with the new place: how much room it has decides what can come. Then go room by room and sort each thing into keep, gift or sell. We do this with you at the free walkthrough and put the plan and the costs in a written estimate.
Can you help a parent moving into care?
Yes. We work with the person moving and with the family, sort what comes along, sell or donate the rest, and keep everyone up to date with photos and updates, including family members who live away.
What happens to the things nobody wants?
We sell what can be sold, donate what can be used, and recycle or clear the rest, so the house is left broom-clean and ready to list.
Do you handle the move too?
Yes, if you want us to. Our moving plans include a floor plan for the new home, packing, movers booked and supervised, and unpacking and set-up before the first night.
When should you start downsizing?
As early as you can, ideally before a move date is fixed. Sorting a lifetime of belongings goes better a room at a time, without a deadline pressing, and it gives family time to choose what they’d like. If a date is already set, we plan back from it and do the heavy lifting.
What is a senior move manager?
Someone who helps an older adult plan and make a move: sorting belongings, planning the new space, arranging movers and setting up the new home. Our downsizing support and moving plans cover that work, and we also sell, donate and clear what doesn’t come along, so one team handles the whole move.
