Estate sales and clean-outs in Central Saanich.
Central Saanich offers no garbage collection, so households use a private hauler or the Hartland depot, and a Pacific Mobile Depot sets up at Stelly’s High School on the fourth Saturday of each month except December. We run executor support, estate sales, online auctions and clean-outs across Central Saanich. Each job begins with a free walkthrough, then a written estimate.

No municipal garbage, several depots
Central Saanich offers no garbage collection. Households have two options, a private hauler or a trip to Hartland. GFL runs the CRD’s blue box recycling. The Pacific Mobile Depot sets up at Stelly’s High School, 1627 Stelly’s Cross Road, on the fourth Saturday of each month except December, from 9am to noon, as of November 2026.
The Return-It Sidney Recycling Centre and Bottle Depot on Galaran Road is open Tuesday to Saturday, and the municipality also lists a Bottle Depot at 4261 Glanford Avenue in Saanich, as of November 2026. Yard waste can go to Hartland or to DL Bins on Keating Cross Road, for a fee at either. Hartland charges $59 per tonne for yard and garden material under 3 inches in diameter, with a $10 minimum, as of November 2026.
Donations and sale signs
Beacon Community Services’ Brentwood Bay Donation Depot, 7105 West Saanich Road, sits inside Central Saanich and is open for donations 9am to 4:45pm Monday through Saturday (as of November 2026). Furniture goes through Beacon’s Sidney shop at 9760 Fourth Street or its pickup form, which doesn’t name Central Saanich among the places without pickup. St. Vincent de Paul runs stores in Saanich and Sidney whose lists favour small furniture over large pieces and mattresses.
Central Saanich’s Sign Bylaw No. 2182 (2024) has no garage sale clause. It defines a temporary sign as one advertising the sale, lease or construction of the property where it stands, and Low Density Residential zones allow one unlit temporary sign per lot up to 0.6 sq m. A sign for a contents sale isn’t named, so ask the municipality before you put one up.
Questions from Central Saanich
Who picks up garbage in Central Saanich?
The municipality offers no garbage collection, so households use a private hauler or take garbage to Hartland. GFL runs the CRD’s blue box recycling. Hartland is the only landfill in the region, and a clean-out can carry furniture, mattresses and appliances there or elsewhere after we sell and donate what we can.
Where can I donate furniture in Central Saanich?
Beacon’s Brentwood Bay Donation Depot at 7105 West Saanich Road is inside Central Saanich, but furniture goes through its Sidney shop at 9760 Fourth Street or its pickup form, and Beacon declines beds and mattresses. St. Vincent de Paul’s Saanich and Sidney stores want small furniture, not large pieces. Each sets its own rules for what it accepts.
Can I hold a garage sale in Central Saanich?
Central Saanich’s Sign Bylaw has no garage sale clause. It allows one unlit temporary sign per lot, up to 0.6 square metres, in Low Density Residential zones for the sale, lease or construction of the property it stands on. A contents-sale sign isn’t named, so ask the municipality. An online auction keeps buyers out of the house until a supervised pickup.
What does it cost?
It depends on the house and what’s in it. After the free walkthrough you get a written estimate with every cost laid out, before you sign anything, and there’s no obligation.
